I don't like that much to write about companies that I have no idea about or never heard about, but I'll do it again. A so-called manufacturer of
Digital Entertainment Systems for high-end audio video market, named Okoro Media System just announced the availability of its 2009 (now, that we're getting closer to 2010) OMS-AX100 Digital Entertainment System.
The OMS-AX100 is a slim profile digital media server, developed with an embedded 5 channel amplifier, that can output 100 watts per channel (we'll see about that), that allows the consumer to connect passive speakers directly for music playback, video games and, of course, movies.
"We now have a solution for our customers who want a more intimate home theater experience. Our new OMS-AX100 now allows them to have audiophile grade audio without having a receiver or amplifier. By working with AMD, we were able to create a warm and impressive audio experience while delivering an elegant solution that fits the needs of our customers." says Christopher Curry, VP of Sales and
Marketing, Okoro Media System.
Using AMD technology, Okoro managed to build a low-noise mini-computer that delivers 5.1 digital audio via Intersil D2Audio. It will be as silent when delivering audio and when flawlessly playing 1080i/p high definition content from Blu-ray or HD television programming. Encased under the same package is an HDMI support and low power green operation. The SNR is rated at > 105dB with a frequency response of +/- 0.5dB for its 20 - 20,000Hz bandwidth.
Technical specs align like follows - 45watt
Dual Core AMD processor, 5.1 channel Intersil D2Audio amplifier, 4GB 800Mhz RAM, 500GB low power HD storage, DVD burner, HDMI, VGA, component video output - sadly managed through a Windows Vista Home Premium interface. A 7.1 channel pre-amp AX100 custom version is also available, while optional components only feature an ATI Digital Cable Tuner or NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner.
