If you are like me and streaming music from a central device all trough your house sounds like a good idea, then you will be interested in the Orb MP-1 music player that can do just that while also coming with an attractive $70 price tag.
But don't be fooled by its low cost since this is actually quite an impressive little gadget (although the bathroom scale look doesn't do it much justice) that can stream music from Pandora or Sirius Satellite Radio as well as your entire iTunes music collection.
The Orb MP-1 comes with
802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity as well as the Orb Caster media server software in order to stream music from your PC to the MP-1, this solution being compatible with all audio devices that feature a line-in jack.
An iOS app is also provided, that works with
iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad devices, in order provide users with a simple way of controlling the music player, much like a remote control would do.
Users can also configure the maximum volume limit while the Orb MP-1 is compatible with a large number of audio formats including MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4), AAC, Lossless, WMA, WAV, although DRMed files can't be played back by this device.
End of it all, the Orb MP-1 does indeed sound like a nice solution if you want to cheaply
stream music throughout the home, although costs will surely add up if you have a lot of rooms to cover. (
