As every Nintendo gamer out there knows, Activision is set to release the newest addition to its Call of Duty franchise in less then a months time, so PDP saw this as the perfect opportunity to release a special edition Black Ops headset for all the CoD fans among you.

So what's so special about the Call of Duty: Black Ops Headbanger Chat Headset for Wii?

Well, not so much if you ask me, although PDP says this features a special Black Ops theme I don't see much going on apart from a Call of Duty logo placed on an all back headset.

Otherwise this is pretty much your standard Wii headset that plugs inside one of the USB ports available on Nintendo's console and comes with all the features that we expect from such a device, although PDP didn't choose to go for a wireless design when it built the Headbanger, leaving us with a 10-foot cord that will surely stand in our way.

“The Headbanger Headset brings online multiplayer chat to the Wii, and what better game to introduce it to the world than Call of Duty: Black Ops?” said Tom Roberts, Senior Executive VP & CTO from PDP.

“Serious Call of Duty players require voice chat for team-based online games and we’re making sure that they can be heard loud and clear.”

Although I am not a huge fan of game inspired peripherals, PDP at least got the pricing right when it comes down to its Call of Duty: Black Ops Headbanger Chat Headset since this is available for the exact same price as its non CoD branded twin brother, coming in at $24.99.
