I guess that we've talked a lot about the invasion of Chinese knock-offs arriving on the market almost on a daily basis, these device imitating pretty much anything, from iPods to Nokia's mobile phones to... well, whatever you might think of. And that's also the case with the device you'll read about as follows, found on Chinagrabber, which is a rather shameless copy of Sony's PSP, but does manage to offer a fairly extensive number of functions.

Now, apart from the fact that it sort of looks like a PSP on the outside, let's see what the PXP-900 really has under the hood. So, according to the vendor, this thing packs a built-in emulator that will not only play emulated NES/Famicom games, but also Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and even SFC and MD Rom games (32-bit Rom Games). Practically, pretty much any kind of last-gen (or even last-last gen) title you might think of.

However, there's a lot more to the PXP-900 than gaming. In the good tradition of Chinese clones, the device offers extensive PMP features, including here support for AVI, RM, RMVB, WMV, ASF, MPG, MPEG, MPE, MP4, DAT, MOV, DAT video files, MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC, RM-Audio, AMR, AAC+ audio files, but also JPEG, GIF, BMP photos (with zoom feature) and books in TXT format.

Moreover, the device packs a 4.3-inch display with 320x240 pixel resolution, a built-in camera module, 2GB Flash internal memory, as well as an SD Card slot, which supports memory cards with sizes of up to 4GB. The whole contraption is powered by its built-in rechargeable lithium batteries.

And now, for the best thing about the PXP-900, the price point. Hence, the PSP clone retails for around 90 US dollars, which, let's face it, is not even that high a sum, if that emulator really works as advertised, of course.

I tested this system in Bangladesh, & it works! I have loaded SEGA MD games (.smd files) & SEGA GENESIS (.gen) & it runs them smoothly. But one drawback, the interface is on Chinese language & I couldn't find any way to make it English. Also the system has four action buttons but when the game starts only two of them works, which makes hard to play games which uses three action buttons. The camera is good, photos are bright, resolution comparable to 1.3 MP camera. The joystick is better responsive than the joypad, especially when firing powers in Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat/King of Fighters. The best thing is you can carry it around & its battery last 3+ hours when playing games. I like it & will suggest it to all my nostalgic friends who miss playing SEGA games. (I will check whether this runs NES/SNES games soon). The price is USD $40.00-50.00 here in Bangladesh.
