I'm pretty sure you know this by now, but Panasonic released a large number of new and interesting products at this year's CES, including here a very innovative Full HD 3D plasma display. And in order to compliment its many
display-related offerings, the Japanese company also introduced a wireless home theater system, the SC-ZT2.
As Panasonic informs us, the SC-ZT2 can transmit
Full HD 3D signals from the Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Player to the Full HD 3D TV, without the need of speaker cables. Moreover, the SC-ZT2 is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), which allows receiving audio signal from the TV through a single HDMI cable. This new feature simplifies the set-up by eliminating the need of a separate optical audio connection, while offering the necessary support for 3D images and Full HD video.
The Panasonic SC-ZT2 wireless audio system includes two ultra slim pole speakers and a wireless receiver, and comes packed with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD 7.1-channel surround sound with only two speakers. Each speaker houses four one-inch tweeters that are vertically aligned and emit sounds parallel to the floor enabling one to listen from anywhere in the room, regardless of lying down or sitting on a sofa.
The
speakers also boast an integrated long-stroke woofer, with a diameter of approximately five inches, which generates sounds from the low-frequency range to deep bass that is typically produced by subwoofers. It uses a Down-Fire structure that employs the floor as an acoustical reflector to produce dynamic bass sounds.
As we've come to expect from Panasonic, it is pretty quiet about the possible pricing of its new Full HD 3D compatible wireless audio system. However, it does mention that the SC-ZT2 should be available around June 2010, pretty much when we expect the company's Full HD 3D solutions to become available as well.
