Perrelet is one of the names that will be present at this year's edition of Baselworld, where it is proud to present its novelty to the world, a fantastic Split-Second Chronograph "Louis-Frederic" realized in two limited editions.
It is an artwork executed in homage to Louis-Frederic Perrelet for his exceptional split-second counter, which he patented in 1828. This amazing split-second chronograph, in white gold or in a subtle harmony of white gold and rose gold, represents the innovation and openness of the brand. Apart from the extraordinary complexity and decoration of the movement, watchmaking enthusiasts will appreciate the elegance of the finish on the glass discs that have taken the place of traditional hands. The result is perfect harmony between tradition and modernity.
Perrelet’s engineers have conceived a series of new timepieces by reinterpreting the complication created by Louis-Frederic with the possibilities offered by today’s technology. The first series is limited and numbered to 50 pieces in a combination of 18 carat white and rose gold with a black skeletonized dial. The second series limited to 27 pieces in 18 carat white gold only features a blue, skeletonized dial. Both editions feature Perrelet’s automatic, semi-skeletonized caliber P-241.
Central hour and minute hands work in perfect harmony with the seconds and date being displayed by rotating glass disks. Other two disks serve to display the chronograph totalizers, all of which produce a highly innovative and aesthetically appealing look to the watch. The contemporary design is enhanced by using a natural rubber strap, which has been embossed with the Perrelet Logo. A gold deployment buckle is standard for both models.
The anti-reflective sapphire crystal allows an unimpeded view into the intricacies of this beautifully skeletonized movement revealing rhodium-plated bridges and plates, blued screws, polished and angled parts, as well as permitting the dominant barrel to unwittingly take center stage.
