Luxury watch maker Perrelet has launched its ultimate Tourbillon in titanium and rose gold realized in a special limited edition of 20 pieces. Judging by the highly restrictive number, it's clear that this wrist watch is really something, as usually, very special watches, complex in design and manufacture come in very small collections.
An exceptional timepiece with a mythical complication, the Automatic Tourbillon is one of the outstanding examples of technical know-how in the very exclusive universe of the top brands of luxury watches. Perrelet offers one of the rare automatic flying Tourbillons, with off-center hours and minutes and an official chronometer certificate issued by the COSC, something less than average for a tourbillon-based timepiece.
With what could be described as a very Jaquet Droz inspired dial layout, the face of this watch has an off-center dial with a large, nicely made tourbillon serving as the small seconds. No nonsense gold colored hour markers are both aggressive and classy, while the splash of carbon fiber tells you that this is a less sensitive watch. Inside the 42mm wide case with its sandwiched titanium and smooth gold bezel and back, an automatic Perrelet caliber P161 runs with a massive 110 hours of power reserve. Really nice to have that type of power life, as well as automatic winding.
The automatic mechanical movement has been decorated with traditional Geneva Stripes and combines perfectly with the winding rotor, which features an inlaid glass insert bearing the brand’s name. The entire mechanical marvel can be savored by the open case back that allows an unimpeded view of the inner workings.
A rubber strap, double anti reflective coating on the sapphire crystal and 50 meters of water resistance make this timepiece even more desirable. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the pricing of this exquisite timepiece yet.
