When you say home cinema, most people think only about a video projector and that's quite it. Actually, home-cinema regards sound as well, or as much as it does the video part. Both "components" matter just as much, or might I dare say, sound matters more, though. Why is that?

Because the video part is only visual, you see it and that's it, while the audio part starts with hearing and as it goes lower in the frequency, it reaches sub-bass tunes that you don't hear anymore, but you certainly feel them, either just through the vibration of the ear bones or even your whole body frame.

Philips just released a series of home theatre systems that even feature Blu-ray support. First to be mentioned, for the minimalistic design afficionados, is the new Philips SoundBar with Ambisound. Compact in size, sleek designed and with Blu-ray integrated playback for full HD sharp imagery, it will provide you with an enjoyable entertainment in high definition video and surround sound.

Other mention-worthy features of the SoundBar would be the DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD that deliver high fidelity 7.1-like surround sound, FullSound that brings compressed MP3s to CD-like audio quality, and the Clear Voice for more comprehensible voice in movies and music.

If space-saving isn't on top for you, you might as well choose the Philips Home Theater HTS7540 - a 5.1 system that will ensure high definition video and surround sound in a sober black design, finished with high quality aluminum.

Composed of four floor standing pillars, a magnetically shielded center speaker and the 8" subwoofer, this system is a physically 5.1 sound system that offers best-in-class audio quality. DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD are there to ensure the sound quality of the delivered surround sound, while the Philips DoubleBASS will take care of outputting full and deep bass tones, wobble and boom being at home.

Other members in the series, come just as high-quality and sleek design, but come in smaller packages, as follows - Philips Home Theater HTS7520 has two floorstander front speakers, two smaller rear speakers, a center speaker and an 8" subwoofer; the HTS7500 comes with four small satellites, center speaker and the same 8" subwoofer, while the last, but not least, HTS7200 comes in a glass and aluminium stylish mix with two satellites, one 6.5" subwoofer and touch screen controls.
