You know how nice it is when you go to the seaside. Set your tent, on the beach if possible, make a camp fire, have a few drinks and there's a slight probability you'll fall asleep near the tent. Have you noticed how nice, or should rather say tender, it is when the only thing that
wakes you up is the Sun? Gradually increasing its intensity, I guess that is the most natural way to wake up and it was something natural in times when we didn't have knowledge about housing.
As always, Philips comes up with the best simple things. It has developed an alarm clock that wakes you up just like the Sun, gradually increasing light. Every person has different sensitivity to light, because of that, Philips implemented an up to 300 Lux light intensity so you can set it at your own preference. The higher the light intensity, the faster you will wake up.
It can simulate both dusk and dawn. For dusk, you can set the time-out and background sounds so you'll drift to sleep as naturally as you're going to wake up the next morning. As for dawn, the light starts to gradually increase in 30 minutes before the set wake-up time. Light falling on your eyes really affects your energy hormones telling your body it's time to… rise and shine and thus waking up will be a lot more pleasant.
Besides the optional FM-radio, you can select to wake up to, there are four natural
sounds like morning birds in the forest, a relaxing beep, the sounds of the African jungle or just soft chimes in the wind. Either radio or sounds you select, the volume starts from very low and gradually increases over a period of one minute and a half, so you won't be rudely woken up. Even more, as you can see in the picture, it features a docking station for your iPod or iPhone for selecting waking up tracks and for charging it as well. The only downside is the $199 price tag.
