Over the past couple of months, the number of pico projectors arriving on the market has increased at a relatively steady pace, with new models arriving almost on a monthly basis. However, as far as the resolution of the displayed images
is concerned, changes have been rather minor (to say the least), most of the products of this type available on the market supporting a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.
However, it seems that things are about to change, at least if we are to believe the claims of a relatively unknown company going by the name of Forever Plus Corp. Hence, this firm has just released a portable LED projector that, apparently, should be able to create images at 720p (1280x728 pixels) resolutions, a feat that some of the big names in this field (such as 3M, for example) have not been able to achieve thus far. According to Forever Plus, one of the most important features brought about by this device is its portability, as the thing measures just around 12.5cm x 15cm x 5cm, while the weight is approximately 800 grams (a bit above the average for this range of products, but it will do). Also very important, besides the resolution mentioned above, is the aspect ratio, the manufacturer guaranteeing the fact that it will support both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
The company mentions the fact that this tiny device comes equipped with a 30,000-hour lasting LED light, which helps it generate a fairly OK amount of light, at the same time maintaining a relatively low power consumption level (around 30W). Furthermore, the device packs a pretty standard set of connectivity options, including here HDMI, RGB and RCA connectors.
Unfortunately, no pricing and availability details have been provided thus far, which raises very serious question marks regarding whether this tiny device is just vaporware or it will actually arrive on the market at some point.
