Pioneer is really creative when it comes to their audio devices and this time, they got really creative. I am not talking about some
new sound technology embedded into headphones, but rather an innovative design. The headphones right here are in-ear and they come with a leather covering that resembles that of leather belts. Pioneer SE-CL24 Leather Belt Earphones is their name and you can admire them in the picture I've attached here.
Of course, this is the model with the normal brown color for the leather “belt,” but over at
Audiocubes, you can find them with a blue, yellow and
black leather covering. Unfortunately, they are available only in Japan, which makes them a little hard to get, like all
fashion gadgets usually are.
So, because they are made by Pioneer, these SE-CL24 headphones should provide decent audio quality. They are rather standard earphones, though, with no incredible specs whatsoever. Their manufacturers have plated the 3.5 mm plug that goes into the corresponding audio jack with gold, like all companies out there that consider themselves worldwide famous, and these in-ear headphones promise an impedance of 16 ohms.
They come with ear pieces in three different sizes, XS, S and M, in order to fit any type of ear and the cord is wrapped in a cloth cover so they look even more “classy.” Don't know how the leather cover would feel against your ears' skin, as I myself have not yet had the pleasure of using such headphones, but if you happen to have a Japanese friend, the $39.99 price of this model doesn't seem that much to pay for satisfying your curiosities, or if you already like over the ear headphones covered in leather. We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
