Plantronics is a well-known manufacturer of portable audio systems, including here a wide range of headphones and Bluetooth headsets. And now, the manufacturer is back with yet another very interesting offer, namely the new Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth headset, which makes use of AudioIQ2, the next generation of the company's AudioIQ digital signal processing (DSP) technology, delivering superior noise and wind cancellation.
In fact, as the maker informs us, the new Voyager PRO is the successor to the Plantronics Voyager 510 model and builds upon the successful platform of its predecessor, while adding some new and interesting features of its own. For example, besides the AudioIQ2 technology mentioned above, the headset also sports an adjustable dual-microphone boom, which helps in better picking up the user's voice.
Furthermore, the Voyager PRO sports three layers of WindSmart technology, including dual external stainless steel microphone screens and acoustic fabrics that surround the microphones. It features a custom speaker that delivers full-spectrum audio, plus an adaptive 20-band equalizer that delivers distortion-free audio.
The Plantronics Voyager PRO ear tip is made of soft silicone for an optimal fit and features a “sound channel” that helps distribute audio evenly to the ear. It also includes easily accessible power, volume and mute buttons and can seamlessly connect to two different mobile phones with multipoint technology. The Voyager PRO also offers voice prompts for low battery warnings and mute status, the lithium polymer power pack providing up to six hours of continuous talk time and five days of stand-by time.

“Plantronics is singularly focused on one thing – the headset perfected. With the Plantronics Voyager PRO we set out to engineer a high-performance headset for today’s professional user who not only demands unparalleled sound quality on both sides of call, but also insists on comfort and usability,” said Renee Niemi, vice president and general manager of the Plantronics Mobile and Entertainment Division. “Voyager PRO breaks new ground in Bluetooth headsets, and consumers will be delighted by the total experience.”
Of course, this improved user experience does come at a price, and in the case of the Voyager PRO, that price is of around 100 US dollars. Unfortunately, for the time being, the new headset is available solely in the United States, with Asian and European markets to follow in June and late July, respectively.
