There are some things in this world that not many people can deny they've heard about. How many people haven't heard of the Internet? Or Madonna? Not many, in my opinion. This is also the case with the popular gaming console manufacturer going by the name of Nintendo. I can't tell how many times I've heard parents say things like “He's playing Nintendo” or “All he knows is Nintendo all day long”. Granted, they only have an extremely vague idea of what they're talking about, but the truth of the matter is that they associate the Nintendo brand with games, which is a pretty accurate association.
Now let's move on and forget about what parents know, and talk about something every Nintendo fan knows about: Mario Kart! You can't tell me you've owned a Nintendo console and haven't once plugged in a Mario Kart game. They're are known to be the most entertaining multi-player racing games in history.
My first experience was on the Nintendo 64. It was great since the N64 represented the new 3D era in gaming consoles. I remember playing the thing for hours together with my cousins. We were only 3 (4 was the limit those days), but we sure had fun.
Anyway, back to the present, a company called Brando has released the “Wii Mario Kart RC Racing Car”. This is a small match box size replica Mario and his new Wii debuting racing kart which uses a remote control for driving. Both the kart and the remote control are extremely small, about the size of an iPod nano (each). Although the size makes the remote look like an underpowered toy, it actually uses a Super Wide IR Controller and provides the user with two driving speeds.
The device comes bundled with all the needed batteries and will surely provide lots of fun among Nintendo fans. With 4 different characters (Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser) this will make for a nice collection which most likely will end on ebay as a collectible in about 10 years.
One character is available for approx. $25, but the entire set can be purchased for only $79.90.
