As you surely know, Porsche is one of the world's most important car brands, the company's vehicles being, in general, among the fastest, most powerful and luxurious. Furthermore, the maker has released, over time, quite a few accessories for Porsche owners, one of the most interesting (and most recent) being the particular device you'll read about as follows, namely the Porsche Design P'9120 tablet top radio, which offers users high-quality audio packed in an exquisite design, but at a pretty high price point.
As far as the design is concerned, the P'9120 will most likely draw the attention, with its black external case and no less than three speakers on the front side. However, these speakers (plus the sub-woofer that accompanies them) are used for a lot more than just show-off, since they provide a very good quality sound, partly due to the double-wall function the table-top radio can provide. The overall audio power is of 15W, while the frequency response of the sub-woofer driver ranges between 87 Hz and 2.5 Khz.
Furthermore, the device features a yellow LED display that shows the time in 12/24 hour format, as well as an iPod connector, which is used for playing the music stored onto Apple's player, at the same time charging it.
And since we've reached the issue of connectivity, it's also important to mention the fact that the device features antenna connectors on the rear side, which are used for receiving XM, AM, FM and SW, RDS in the USW band. Plus, it has a line-in jack and a headphone connector.
Pretty much as we were expecting from a (any) Porsche product, the Porsche Design P'9120 Radio is quite an expensive piece of equipment, retailing for somewhere around 600 Euro, which, let's face it, is more than what this device is actually worth. However, it's very likely that there will be quite a few people willing to pay this sum, as long as they own a Porsche.
