There are times when you need a fast Internet connection and the only option available is a 3G, or, if you are lucky, a 4G network, so Mushroom Networks developed a solution that allows you to connect up to five cellular wireless modems, providing fast Internet transfer speeds even in the most hostile of places.
If all of this sounds just about right to you, then take a look at the PortaBella broadband bonding device that can operate in the toughest climates known to men, temperatures as low as -20C and as high as 70C not being a problem for this thing.
Mushroom Networks actually provides two similar solutions, the PortaBella 2422 and PortaBella 141, the first one being able to accommodate up to five cellular modems via the available USB ports, while the 1412 is limited to just four such devices.
The 2422 unit also comes with four
Ethernet ports, two being designed for WAN connection, if such thing is available at the deployment site, while the other two are used by the devices that need Internet access.
PortaBella 141 doesn't come that highly equipped, offering only one Ethernet port for connecting a local network or some other device used at the mobile location, but this can be configured with an optional battery pack to be used even when a power outlet is not available.
I have to admit that the PortaBella 141 configured with the optional battery pack looks like a pretty attractive device to me, the only obstacle standing in front of this being the high data plan costs associated with owing four cellular modems.
