Late night reading is something I have always enjoyed. Until I realized it strained my eyes. Recently, I saw this rechargeable LED book light. Too bad I gave up reading a while ago. Although not the coolest looking small lamp I've seen lately, this tiny gadget is most useful clinically speaking. Scientists say that reading in dim light for an hour equals to the same strain caused by staring for eight hours into a monitor.
If you're the night time reader type, this should be on your bedside table. It features four
bright LEDs, encased into a translucent silicon for even light distribution. To comply with your mood and eye exposure, you can select one of the two light levels, between bright and super-bright. Easy adjustable as well, featuring two angle adjustments that allow you to point the light in almost any direction. The head rotates to 90 degrees, while the hinge does a full 180 degree. A strong clip is provided so the ReLight won't slip when attached to the book or magazine you are reading.
It comes fully equipped and ready to use right out of the box. It uses two (included) rechargeable Li-Ion batteries that can be recharged for at least 500 times before you need to replace them. The charging station is a
dock type stand that gets your ReLight charged in less than hours. Small LED indicator lets you know the status, red when charging, and green when it's done.
The presentation was a decent one, not over-exaggerated like most
gadgets such as this one, but it does have a slightly overrated specification. I'm talking about the battery lifespan on a single charge. They say that's up to 36 hours in bright-mode and 12 for super-bright. Don't you think that's a little too much for reading and even more for some tiny lithium ion batteries to last? Anyway, this would be a fun thing to have, although it might keep you up all night going through your comic books. The price tag says $34.95.
