QNAP Security, a world-class manufacturer of PC-less Network Video Recorder solutions, has just unveiled the extension of its VioStor series with four new desktop and rack-mount models. All four models are targeted at industrial usage, in large facilities.
This new VS-8000 line includes the
rack mounted VS-8032U-RP and VS-8024U-RP, and the desktop tower VS-8032 and VS-8024. Each of the new models is a high performance video surveillance system that can take and record video simultaneously from up to 32/24 IP cameras on the network and represent a very good solution for large office building, shopping malls, or even manufacturing facilities.
"The VS-8000 series is the excellent surveillance solution for the users who need a security system capable of large storage for long-term video recording and flexible integration with different IP cameras. We believe the NVR with the firmware 3.1 is the perfect option for them," says Peace Kuo, Product Manager of QNAP Security.
VS-8000 series
also integrates storage, with eight hot-swappable, not included, hard drives for a total of 16TB of video recording capacity. As a spare support, the system also include high performance RAID 0/1/5/6/5+.
Video capabilities go up to recording video from 8-Megapixel IP cameras, and, while refering to the file formats, we can point out that they record M-JPEG, MPEG-4, MxPEG and H.264 videos. All models in the series come with two Gigabit LAN ports that feature fail-over and load balancing supports which provides redundant network connectivity.
Speaking of redundancy, the rack mounted models also have integrated power supplies that take control in case the burglars take the power down. That's good for starters, just have to have the IP cameras also backed up.
The latest firmware version 3.1 that comes with the new series, adds relevant features to the system, including intelligent video analytics (IVA), digital watermarking of video files, auto cruising, JPEG CGI command to support mode IP camera models, plus SMS and email alerts.
