Without a doubt, our modern world is depending more and more on the Internet as a content delivery vehicle, pretty much anything and everything being available online, from the latest movies and video clips to photos, books in electronic format, software applications, news and articles, blog posts, etc. Indeed, the Internet has become our gateway to the rest of the world, but as far as content access is concerned, most people have not really managed to create some comprehensive solutions allowing them to successfully distribute and manage content in their own households.
As you might have noticed over the past couple of days, we had the chance to take some
Sitecom products for a very quick spin, before getting to fully review them. However, instead of talking about each separate product that's a part of the Smart Living category, we'd prefer to talk about them all, in order to point out just why they might ultimately prove to be quite beneficiary for a very large number of consumers, especially those who are a bit less tech-savvy.
The concept consists of 5 smart applications: Store, Share, Play, Download and Stream Wireless. These are part of a single advanced total solution that makes it possible to easily organize,
manage and optimally enjoy digital photos, music and movies. With Smart Living, Sitecom presents a complete multimedia experience, designed and developed from a non-technical perspective with a focus on the needs of the end user and on the applications themselves. As a result, Sitecom offers a series of intuitive, smart solutions for sharing emotions, including a Home Storage Center, Wireless Media Router and a TV Media Player.
The Home Storage Center is the foundation of the Smart Living line and allows users to safely store digital photos, music and movies in a central location in the network and share them with other users at home. Digital media stored on the Home Storage Center or on any desktop PC, notebook or the Portable Storage Case can be immediately shown on a TV with full HD quality (1080p) via the TV Media Player.
The Media Router – which forms the heart of the
home network – makes it possible to simultaneously download digital media and wirelessly stream it with full HD quality at maximum speed. The advantage of this concurrent dual-band router can be utilized by reserving the cleaner 5 GHz frequency for time-sensitive applications such as audio and HD video streaming, gaming, VoIP and downloading without interruptions. With the Wireless Media Adapter 300N, the user can wirelessly connect the TV Media Player or a computer to the Media Router via the standard 2.4 GHz or cleaner 5 GHz frequency that provides uninterrupted performance for HD video streaming.
We'll also have to mention the fact that setting up this whole all-round content delivery solution will be an extremely easy task, since the user's manual is extremely simple and straightforward (Ikea-style, as the company's reps put it), and the required processes only involve connecting some wires to the right interfaces and pressing a couple of buttons. Very simple and convenient, all things considered.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
