Another great solution for the amputees has been officially announced and showcased, with actual market release time expected to be in June. The bebionic hand is one of the most advanced hand prosthesis out there, making a lot of functions available for its users that cannot be performed with regular systems of this sort. There is a presentation video below the text, which will allow you to make a difference between the bebionic and other prosthetic systems seen here.

“We were overwhelmed with the level of interest and enthusiasm bebionic received at the Congress. The feedback from those visiting the stand, including clinicians and end users has been truly outstanding. bebionic’s advanced technology offers unique features combined with a life-like design and at a reasonable price offers amputees’ worldwide improved aesthetics and dynamic function for active everyday living.” said Paul Steeper, product sales director of RSLSteeper.

The bebionic is a fully articulating myo-electric hand prosthesis running together with wrist units capable of providing rotation and flexion/extension types of movements. This artificial hand has a motor for every digit. RSLSteeper used on board microprocessors for monitoring the detailed positioning of every finger at all times. The electronics in the bebionic hand prosthesis allow for grips around complex shapes.

Bebionic comes with two user selectable thumb positions, opposed or non-opposed, which are always monitored by a special sensor. Each finger has springs, which help the system to move naturally in a passive interaction activity, for example if walking into someone on the street.

This type of architecture provides a very natural movement and, most importantly, comfortable grips. The ability to perform delicate movements is what differentiates this prosthesis from others out there. It comes covered in silicon and, for a more natural look, future users can even choose the appropriate tone for it and the shape of the nails. Medgadget has more details about the bebionic hand.
