There have always been contesters of technology and more so in our time. Super fast computers, the Internet, one-touch access machines... don't all these make books less essential, if not obsolete? Technology, however, looks back at its beginning. The new model BeBook from Endless Idea is supposed to be not just another type of electronic book reader.
Supporting wireless connectivity through one or more platforms or protocols, touchscreen navigation, RSS wireless support and the ability to buy your books on the spot, the new BeBook seems to be the perfect solution when it comes to electronic book reading. Just like the earlier version, you can read your books in any type of lighting, including bright sunlight, its battery life guarantees at least 7000 page turns and it can be used anywhere thanks to its design fit especially for persons on the go and extreme mobility.
Supporting a huge amount of file formats like pdf, mobi, prc, epub, lit, txt, fb2, doc, html, rtf, jpg, rar and others, as well as having a good amount of internal memory and an SD memory card make this device guarantee you won't leave any book unread due to lack of space or compatibility. You may zoom, change the font type, size of the font or add bookmarks to your page. Sort them by name, size or filename or use the device as an mp3 player, it's versatile enough!
Seeing how all these are specs made available on the old version, I'm curious what the new model BeBook will bring to the e-book reader's category. Hopefully, the manufacturer will leave the chic leather case. I kind of liked that accessory. Nothing may replace the simple act of turning a sheet of paper or the delight of holding a book and immersing in the story told by the author, but the BeBook reader might be just the best thing. This new version of the reader will be presented at CeBIT 2009.
