A new time piece with a design that will make it memorable for ages, this time from Rebellion, another brand of Swiss watches that you might already know for the
unique features and exterior design of their creations. Like the T-1000 model, which visitors of the Baselworld 2010 could see last week at the event. This watch has been designed by Rebellion together with designer Eric Giroud.
The name of the watch comes from its 1,000-hour power reserve, which is about 40 days’ time. This feature alone makes it unique. Three on each vertical side and a total of six mainsprings provide the astonishing power reserve of this watch, which work through a patented technology.
The barrels are wound together in parallel by chain and prop shaft. This way, the six mainspring barrels are able to discharge power in series. The T-1000 has other patented technologies incorporated, including for the folding clasp of the buckle. User's comfort is, of course, one of the first conditions these collection
watches must accomplish.
The T-1000 has its case built out of titanium and its chassis out of aluminum, features that explain its industrial look. However, the limited edition watch also incorporates precious
jewels like rubies and ceramic. There are 14 ceramic pieces and 22 rubies in it. The number of T-1000s built is of only 100. It is resistant to up to 50 meters underwater. Also, its strap is made out of black alligator leather.
All the winding is done manually with the help of an integrated winding lever and the watch has a total of 693 components for the chassis. This is a genuine time piece that collectors out there are probably ordering as we speak. Sadly, we can only admire it from a distance.
