Regen Incorporated announced these days that its most technologically advanced and eye-catching personal solar capture and storage device, namely the ReNu, is out as of yesterday, being presented at the prestigious i-stage competition. This is actually the debut product from Regen Inc, a new company on the market, formed by Ammunition LLC, a design and development firm based in San Francisco and Noribachi, a cleantech venture accelerator. All the products from Regen
are to be made with attention to design and packing solar technology, in order to provide users with electronics that both empower and inspire.
"We're excited to push the boundaries of personal power generation and really change the way people think of energy creation and use in consumer electronics," says Robert Brunner, Regen's Chief Designer and the founder of Ammunition. "Nothing like the ReNu exists on the market and we believe it will turn heads and help change the way people power their personal electronics."
The soul of the ReNu device is the ReNu panel, a freestanding power module that
contains solar cells, a rechargeable battery, as well as an intelligent user interface. The panel can both be hanged and placed in direct light to capture energy. When fully recharged, the panel can be used into one of a series of Regen extensions to utilize the energy stored. Among the ReNu extensions, we find included a phone charging system, personal audio and task lighting, while the ReNu panel itself is also able to charge an iPhone, iPod or USB device directly.
"Simply put, Regen's goal is to change the energy equation in personal and consumer electronics," says David Pierce, Regen's Chief Executive Officer. "We're making power generation at the point of use easy, beautiful and accessible. Everything we bring to market will produce energy, not just consume it."
