If you've ever dreamed about having a futuresque type of furniture item that can deliver both a good level of relaxation and a complete and immersive multimedia experience, well, you can dream no more, since a company called BodySound Technologies has come up with exactly such a product, namely the Renaissance Seating.

This seating offers a 3D vibroacoustic experience and utilizes the finest materials and state of the art audio technologies, combined with a very attractive exterior.

With the press of a button the arms of the recliner open and transform into elegant, high fidelity audio speakers, adding to the five invisible speakers built into the headrest, back, and seat.

The 7 speaker – 11 driver array is powered by a 7 channel, 650 watt programmable multiprocessor amplifier under each seat and a 2 channel amplifier in the arm.

The system provides audiophile quality, 3D near-field acoustics with enhanced spatial resolution, improved sound clarity and intimacy, plus sound as sensation.

The sophisticated technology is augmented by the architecture of the seat’s framing and geometry to create VibroAcoustic Immersion Technology (VIT), that enhances movies, television and gaming.

“Renaissance seating brings together heightened enjoyment and stress reducing relaxation in one product with our distinct VibroAcoustic Immersion Technology”, said Dr. Dan Cohen, CEO of BodySound Technologies.

“It cocoons users in sound and feeling creating a richly textural vibroacoustic experience.

This experience produces very deep relaxation with music and with movies and TV brings the user one step closer to virtual reality.”

Renaissance seating can be fully customized to match any décor and create a one-of-a-kind piece, and for this reason, it should come as no surprise that the pricing starts at $36,000.
