I'm pretty sure that there are still many, many people out there who are still very fond of all those old game cartridges or CDs they've collected over the years and which are now laying in one (or several) boxes in the basement/attic, gathering dust, because finding a
console that still supports them, as well as the time to play all those “oldies but goldies” is a bit difficult.
As you might have guessed, I'm referring to yours truly here, and for this reason, I was very excited to come across the RetroN 3 gaming system from Hyperkin, whose main selling point is, without a doubt, its very high level of versatility, the device being capable of playing
Nintendo, SEGA Genesis and
Super Nintendo cartridges.
The RetroN 3 sports two original control ports for each gaming platform, as well as S-video and composite AV inputs for connecting the device to a HDTV. It's compatible with original Nintendo, SEGA Genesis or Super Nintendo controllers, but if those are not available, the RetroN3 comes with its own pair of wireless controllers.
The RetroN 3 is available in two colors (black and red) and can be purchased for just 70 US dollars, which is in fact quite an OK price point, all things considered.
