Probably not many of us have this problem, especially during the recession, but there are filthy rich people out there who seem to have everything and their only concern left is how to protect their most valuable possessions. Although I personally don't find any logic in owning precious artwork or luxury cars and not having them around to enjoy, some people are worried about being likely targets for a robbery.
As a relief for them, the first high-tech robotic self storage facility in the world has been constructed in The United States, located just north of Fort Lauderdale. It is called RoboVault and combines cutting-edge technology with state-of-the-art security systems that make the facility virtually impenetrable for the theft, harsh weather elements, bullets, fire, even Category 5 hurricane winds. The producers don't mention it, but as it sounds, it will possibly even resist a nuclear war.
The storage space available is intended for holding wine, art, private collections, documents and even exotic cars. Each client gets his/hers fully automatic robotic container retrieval system, with varying sizes. Adjacent rooms are created for climate-controlled wine storage and private safe deposit boxes designed for individual requirements.
The producers seem to expect a crowd of wine connoisseurs, since they have also offered an elegant private wine tasting room furnished with wooden wine storage racks, as an addition to the customer lounge area. The climate-controlled environment meets wine industry standards, providing a storage temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit and proper humidity levels kept at 65-70%.
Other facility highlights include back-up power generation lasting up to 14 days, private drive-in access and the possibility of choosing between short and long-term leases. Unfortunately for the rich eager to be relieved from the stress of having just too many valuables around, no word on pricing is available for the time being.
