With Photokina being just around the corner and IFA just ending last week, it should come as no surprise that the companies involved in the field of digital photography have been pretty busy, including here Rollei, who's announced some pretty interesting novelties in their “Designline” series of digital photo frames.
The first model in the new series is the Designline 3106, a 10.4-inch TFT-LCD frame that not only shows photos and videos, but it also provides a relaxing way of browsing through the latest e-books.
Furthermore, it also features WLAN, an extra function for
e-mailing photos and Internet radio, playing back MP3s via the integrated stereo loudspeakers or alternatively via headphones.
The display resolution of 800x600 pixels and the aspect ratio of 4:3 combine to ensure brilliant colours and perfectly presented pictures.
A particularly convenient
feature is the special battery docking station, which also doubles as the frame’s stand, while the ultra-slim frame (only 10.5 mm deep) is also a doddle to use - either by remote control or via a touch menu with stylish blue LEDs.
The recommended retail price for the Rollei Designline 3106, which will be available in shops in the colours Black and White from mid-October 2010, is 149.95 Euro.
Next in line comes the 8-inch Rollei Designline 3085, which also sports a 800x600 pixels resolution, coupled with touch-key controls and most of the features found in the case of the 3106 model (sans WLAN, though).
The Designline 3085 will be available in shops from mid-October 2010, with the recommended retail price being set at 79.95 Euro.
Rollei has also announced the development of the Designline 3086 Portable, an 8-inch TFT-LCD digital frame that can also be used as an e-book, since it features a resolution of 800x600 pixels and control options for the contrast and brightness.
This portable picture frame plays slide shows in different speeds and with ten different picture transition effects.
Other additional functions such as
WLAN, Internet radio and weather forecast go to complete the versatile range of features this frame offers, not to mention a battery that lasts for up to three hours.
The frame is controlled by a push-button menu along the bottom edge of the screen.
The black frame in a black leather cover will be available from late-October 2010 for a RRP of € 149.95.
Last, but certainly not least, comes the Designline 3080 model, which displays photos and videos in a 4:3 aspect ratio on a screen measuring 20.32 cm (8 inches).
The device can also play back audio files in MP3 and WMA formats via the integrated stereo loudspeakers, while a headphone connection is also available for optimal music enjoyment.
The frame will be available in shops from early-October 2010 for € 69.95 (RRP).
