Indifferent of the field of activity, it's obvious to everybody that clothes are not only items meant for covering one’s body anymore, but, most of the time, they double as high-end technology displayers, with functional and/or entertaining purposes. Interactivity is the keyword when it comes to technology encapsulated into fashion.

Rome Snowboards, a young, dynamic and innovative company founded in 2004 sets itself away from the pack by putting design at top priority into their snowboard range, as well as in their outerwear designs. Despite the fact that Rome Snowboards is kind of a small player on the market, by comparison to Burton or Rossignol for example, its designs are definitely worth the attention.

The tech outerwear collection for this winter season features the men’s 'Vagrant' jacket and the women’s 'Swagger' jacket, both incorporating Fibretronic's joystick controller including the IP30 iPod Control module, but any other CONNECTEDwear module will work with both jackets.

The joystick controller is tucked away underneath a storm flap on the forearm of the jackets, giving additional protection to the controller, but also making the iPod connectivity discrete for folks fearing they might be the center of attention on the slope when showing up with this cool jacket.

The jackets are made of nylon twill fabric, a DryTac 15 waterproof-breathable membrane and have all the features a high end snowboarding jacket must have: taped seams, laser-cut leather cuff, Lycra waist gaiter with StormSeal system, vents under arms, retractable pass window, goggle pocket and many more.

The men’s 'Vagrant' jacket comes in three color versions: Green Division Dye, Dark Division Dye and Fatigue, with a suggested retail price of $260, but you might actually find it cheaper at various online retailers. The women’s 'Swagger' jacket comes in the color schemes Ash Grey, Dark Division Dye, Purple and Dark Brown and retails for $230.
