Exercise machines have evolved quite a lot over time, the main idea behind the development of new models being the possibility to provide an extended level of functionality into the same product. In other words, manufacturers try to come up with products that will be able to provide complete and comprehensive workout sessions, without forcing users to spend more money on two or three different machines.
To some extent, that's also the case with the Champiot Ultra (although the price point is a serious drawback). This very interesting device is a combo between a rowing machine and a bicycle, which means that it allows you to move around by using just the power of your arms. This way, users will be able to get both a very good workout of their upper body muscles and get faster and easier to their desired destination. And I'm not using “faster” and “easier” lightly here, since, in today's very crowded urban areas, a bike (or other type of self-powered means of transportation) can prove to be a lot more useful than a car, for example.
According to the manufacturer (the Champiot company), the device “has been built under precise engineering specifications to achieve optimal strength, stability and safety with minimal weight.” It sports a motorcycle chain, four inflatable tires and supports persons 4.2 up to 6.6 feet in height and a maximum weight of up to 300 lbs. (136 kilograms).
There's one more interesting thing here, which Champion doesn't really say anything about. The Champiot Ultra can also prove to be a very useful solution for those people whose feet have been injured in accidents and who can solely use their arms for the time being. However, given the price point (around 1,000 US dollars), it's rather difficult to foresee just how many will actually afford to purchase this thing, especially given the rather dire economic period we're going through right now.
