The art of modding is not exactly accessible to everyone, because you really must have some pretty extensive technical knowledge, as well as a rather developed artistic sense in order to be able to come up with some pretty decent creations. However, when modding is blended with car tuning, the person who manages to pull off such a stunt really deserves a round of applause, and that's exactly the case with the following Russian guy.

Thus, user persh from the Eee-PC.ru forums has managed to accomplish such a feat by taking an EEE PC apart and then adapting it in order to fit within the dashboard of a Daihatsu YRV. The result is a very high-quality car computer, which, besides the EEE PC itself, sports all sorts of additional accessories.

The base of this entire system is represented by an EEE PC 701, equipped with 4 GB of built-in storage. However, persh has added a lot of extras on the side, such as an 8 GB SDHC card, a Bluetooth module, a GPS module, a radiator for the EEE PC, plus a USB touchscreen to replace the actual display of the portable computing system from Asus and grant access to the whole set of features provided by all those accessories contained within.

Furthermore, the modder has also added one NX-3000 web camera (although the purpose of the respective component is not exactly very clear), plus several entertainment options, such as a slot-loading DVD player, a USB radio, hi-fidelity audio system and a 4-channel amplifier. Of course, in order to connect all of these separate components, he used a ton of USB adapters, plus pretty much every type of wire one might think of.

While the entire process is relatively well documented by the modder (so others will be able to follow his path), the truth of the matter is that it does take some guts to rip apart an EEE PC and a car dashboard like that. However, the end result is indeed a pretty spectacular one, as you can very well see from the photos.
