It's already a pretty well-known fact that average PC monitors will do the trick for the wide majority of computer users but there are certain fields (such as design, movie and photo editing, etc.) where a much improved such peripheral is required in order to ensure the best possible results. And this is exactly the type of product Samsung has decided to push onto the market, in the form of its latest LCD PC monitors, the SyncMaster 80 series.
Available, at least for the time being, in two versions, namely 20-inch (50 cm) and 23-inch (58 cm) diagonal sizes, the professional
LCD monitors from Samsung offer users a wide array of features that will most likely make them quite competitive on this particular market segment.
For example, we've got 100% sRGB support, which is an extremely important feature, given the fact that extremely
accurate color reproduction is something every graphics artist craves for. Other important features, at least from the point of view of this thing's display capabilities, include the 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, the 3000:1 contrast ratio and, of course, the 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
While the display capabilities are indeed the most important ones in the case of such a device, the design is also something worth talking about, especially since the new Series 80
LCD PC monitors are extremely slim and good looking, featuring a maximum thickness of around 15 mm in their widest part, while the black finishing and the other design features really does them justice.
Price-wise, the SyncMaster 80 series of professional computer displays from Samsung is not necessarily what we might call uber-expensive, given the fact that they retail for somewhere in the vicinity of 206 Euro (378,000 won) – the 20-inch model and around 252 Euro (457,000 won) – the 23-inch version.
