I like it when companies decide to offer something to the educational system in order to make students' lives easier. It may be the Christmas spirit inside me talking but it is heartwarming to see them thinking about something else besides making more money. Even if they are just offering charging stations to 50 United States colleges and universities like
Samsung Mobile has recently done, it is the thought that matters, right?
Yes, ladies and gents, over 600 thousand students and faculty members will now be able to stay connected for free and also compete in the Samsung Mobile two-day Charge Up challenge. Well, considering they study at the San Diego State University. The contest will have students scale a 24-foot climbing wall, with the first male and female student to reach the top receiving a
Samsung Omnia II and 1,000 United States Dollars.
The second challenge will consist in students participating in the first ever SWYPE Challenge, where they have to text messages from a series of words that relate to college basketball on the Samsung Omnia II. The winner will be awarded his or her very own Omnia II and 500 USD to boot. And best thing of all, now they will be able to keep their newly won Omnia II phone charged up at all times thanks to Samsung Mobile's aforementioned program.
Concluding this here article is none other than Paul Golden, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Mobile, who shared with us his thoughts regarding Samsung Mobile's laudable endeavor, “College students and faculty rely on their mobile devices everyday for communication, scheduling and research. Samsung Mobile is excited to bring our charging stations to some of the largest college campuses in the U.S. […] Samsung Mobile charging stations will help students and faculty stay powered up and connected both in and out of the classroom.”
