I don't remember having written about many Samsung MFPs. Actually, I don't think I have ever heard of the company manufacturing MFPs. Which is not all that strange seeing how Samsung is really into anything that's even remotely electronic. Anyway, onward to the SCX-6545N MultiXpress High Performance Multifunctional Printer slash Laser Copier.

The MultiXpress SCX-6545N is a monochrome laser copier that prints up to 45 pages per minute (ppm) and is targeted at the medium-to-large sized businesses, meant as an alternative to current A3 copiers. Aiming a 4,999 USD monochrome copier at large sized businesses is a good idea, seeing how the price, while really steep for an SMB’s budget, is quite a bargain for a big firm.

It features a 500 MHz CPU, 256MB of memory that can be upgraded to 512MB, as well as PCL and PS3 emulation. Add an 800 x 470 7-inch color LCD touch screen with a user interface that is considered pretty intuitive and... Samsung seems to have figured it all out. The toner cartridge can handle up to 25,000 pages and the price for one cartridge is just 99 USD, which is not too much. It can scan directly to email, FTP, SMB or client and features an 80GB HDD.
