Though Sanho Corp. has quite the experience in building
HyperMac external batteries for Apple's gadget, it is only now that they are announcing the external battery designed especially for Steve Jobs' latest wonder of the world, the iPad tablet. By designed especially for the iPad I am referring, of course, to the fact that the new battery from HyperMac doesn't use a USB connection, just like the gadget it is supposed to charge. Instead, it has a special 10W adapter.
So, the good news is that you can now extend the power of your iPad by a few good hours (up to 2 to 9 times more life), but are you sure you can afford it? That is the real question, as HyperMac sells the new updated/improved battery for iPad at “unique” prices.
The prices for the first external battery
for iPad start at $169 and can go as high $469 for the top 222 Wh model of battery. Add this to, let's say, the cheapest iPad model, and you get an approximately $900 investment just for
browsing the web on the go. While to some people that might seem like good business, to others, it may not and I'll leave it to that.
The smallest type of this HyperMac battery starts at 60 Wh capacity. Other models are the 100 Wh and 150 Wh ones and, of course, the most powerful HyperMac for iPad with 222 Wh capacity. The sure thing about them is that they can extend the total lifetime of your portable tablet to a minimum of 34 hours and to a maximum of 99 hours, according to the battery model.
They still use the same high-end lithium ion cells that are supplied to the U.S. military and they come with a one-year warranty. Their color has not changed from silver either. In case you are interested, Sanho Corp. has only put them up for pre-order for now, with the shipping time estimated at two weeks tops.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
