If just earlier I told you about that electric motor bike, and I even mentioned the weight without the batteries, then what else could I continue with than batteries. Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. has just announced that as of October 2009, its global shipments of the "eneloop" rechargeable batteries that are
promoting a "lifestyle that values reusing and recycling" has reached 100 million cells, almost four years since the first release in November 2005.
Nevertheless, that was only the company's introduction to the actual announcement, that by November 14, it will start shipping two new sets of products, both including the "eneloopy," which is the eneloop mascot. First of the product sets will ship with the "eneloopy" battery checker and AA-sized eneloop batteries, while the other will provide the battery checker, AA-size batteries, as well as a quick-charger.
As an expansion to the eneloop series, Sanyo will also release an eight-color AA-size "eneloop" pack called "eneloop tones" by December 1. The company wants to extend the eneloop series throughout the world, as to provide users a means of comfortably adopting
a new "lifestyle that values reusing and recycling", as to oppose the regular "use and throw away" lifestyle often associated with ordinary products like batteries.
The "eneloop tones" is an eight-color AA-size "eneloop" pack that comes in rich colors resembling the pack of a paper-wrapped crayon set, included with the color purple, pink, orange, yellow, light green, green, light blue and blue. Those not only look good, but also will make for an easier battery management, choosing colors in such a way so you'll know which are charged and which need to be recharged. Last but not least, the "eneloopy" which is a dog-like character "eneloop" mascot and (I must quote, really) "is popular among female customers and children." You have all the details about it right to the left. No pricing yet available for any of the above.
