I don't know about you, but I simply “love” how some accessory manufacturers try to bank as much as possible on the
popularity of certain recently released products by outing items (sometimes utterly useless) for said devices. And that's exactly what Scosche Industries is doing right now since, only a couple of days after the launch of the video-recording enabled iPod nano 5'th generation by Apple, the company has already rolled out a case for the player.
Dubbed kickBACK n5, this accessory is in fact a polycarbonate and rubber hybrid cases with an open face design that includes an ultra-clear screen protector. The new case features a provision for the video camera that was recently added to the nano. Like the recently released kickBACK S for the iPhone 3GS, the case features an integrated kickstand for widescreen viewing and traction nubs that provide grip on flat surfaces. At a first glance, this thing is in fact pretty attractive, and Scosche might really benefit from the fact that it's one of the first companies to come up with such a product (Belkin's also got one, but that's about it), especially since, apparently, these things are already up for grabs.
“We pride ourselves at consistently being one of the first accessories manufacturers to market with leading edge products following an iPhone or iPod announcement,” said Kas Alves, executive vice president of
Scosche Industries. “It’s that ability to react quickly without sacrificing quality that has helped us develop necessary accessories like the new kickBACK case.”
The kickBACK n5 is offered in clear polycarbonate with black rubber and is priced at $24.99. The switchKASE combo back includes the kickBACK n5 and a black silicone skin and is priced at $29.99, both of these offerings being available as we speak for the earliest iPod nano 5G adopters.
