Spying devices, especially watches, are no longer novelty, but the latest gadget of this type, from Brickhouse Security, namely the Secret Agent Camcorder Watch, is clearly different from the rest. Despite the fact that it provides the necessary tools only for passive surveillance, unlike the weaponry endowed watches that James Bond usually sports, this device will make a great spy out of you, and a classy one, too.
It has a pinhole camera hidden in the number 2 on the face of the watch, with a small mic on the side. The camera captures 352 x 288 full color AVIs for up to two hours nonstop before the battery goes dead, and a USB port on the side of the watch allows convenient offloads. The camera can also take VGA (640 x 480) still pics, and the two gigs of onboard memory can be used as data storage. And it even works as a watch. It can record up to eight hours of audio and video.
The trick to this is going to be getting the camera and the microphone pointing in a relevant direction without snapping your wrist in half, and I imagine it takes quite a bit of practice to pull it off while simultaneously not looking like someone trying to slyly point their wrist at something.
It can be used by journalists, private investigators, secret shoppers or law enforcement, with the same effect. Also, it can be used as a USB Flash disc drive. Supporting Windows 2000/NT/XP, the Secret Agent Camcorder Watch features an operating temperature range of 0-40 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature range of -10-60 degrees.
With a sleek black surface, it comes with manual, charger and USB cable, and you can purchase it for a little less than 200 US dollars.
