There are certain times when the ambiance of a room can be radically improved by simply changing the color of the light. Philips knows this only too well, which is why they have developed
a new lighting solution based on LED technology that will allow users to change the color of the lights whenever they wish. The LivingColors
LED lights offer 16 million colors to choose from, so that you don't have to paint the bulbs and realize what a big you've made when the paint starts heating.
"Home is a reflection of one's personal style, and LivingColors offers a whole new creative dimension to decor by using light to alter the ambiance of a room," said Allard Bijlsma, CEO, Philips Consumer Luminaires. "Whether relaxing or entertaining, LivingColors can instantly inspire a space by changing the color to suit the occasion or mood. This is just one more innovative way that Philips is enhancing life with light."
After just recently developing the
world's first LED replacement for common light bulbs, Philips brightens your life with another innovative solution built with eco-friendly technologies. The LivingColors will not interfere with your regular lights though, but it will occupy one of your wall plugs in order to emit the desired light in the whole room.
Choosing the right color is quite easy as anybody can do this from the touch sensitive remote included in the system. So, you'll just have to tap the color you wish the Living Colors lighting fixture to emit and will manage to do so. Plus, it also comes with light-dimming functions, can save your favorite light settings for future uses (up to three) and the kids can play with LivingColors' automatic color-changing function.
This Philips gadget will be available in the United States starting with August with a MSRP of $209 USD. The Europeans are already “painting with color”, as Philips says.
