3D means big business
these days so Sharp just announced their first ever 3D projector for
the consumer market that can display 2D or tri-dimensional images at
Full HD resolutions and comes bundles with two pairs of active
shutter glasses.
Other features include
30000:1 contrast ratio and 1600 Lumens brightness in the “High
Brightness” mode, the projector being 3D compatible with either
"IR Link" and "
DLP Link," so a wide range of
active shutter glasses can be used together with the Sharp XV-Z17000c.
Connectivity wise, the
projector comes packed with two HDMI 1.4a inputs as well as VGA, component,
S-Video and video composite inputs.
"The XV-Z17000 offers
the consumer a formidable and flexible platform for projecting 3D
movies, sporting events, Internet video or any compatible
programming," said Bruce Tripido, associate vice president,
Entertainment Products Division, Sharp Electronics.
"It can also be used
to dramatically deliver all manner of 2D content, for day-to-day
watching or special events.
The included glasses,
which can be adjusted to view content in either 3D or 2D, allow
consumers to begin enjoying this projector immediately."
Sharp also states the
250-watt projection lamp is good for about 3,000 hours (Eco+Quiet:
on), but, unfortunately, infos regarding pricing have not been
announced yet, the XV-Z17000c following to be released in the first
quarter of 2011.
