In order to survive in today's world, specialized HiFi equipment has to expand its feature set, Sherwood America's latest RD-705i A/V Receiver adding network capabilities and Internet radio streaming to its already impressive spec sheet.
This is possible thanks to the 802.11n wireless support added by
Sherwood in the RD-705i, this device being now capable of streaming radio stations from Pandora, Aupeo, Reciva, Shoutcast and other music services, thousands of radio stations from around the world becoming available to you.
The RD-705i also comes with UPnP support meaning that music can also be wirelessly streamed from any digital device inside the home, Windows 7 computers included.
Connectivity options, however, don't end here since the RD-705i also comes with three HDMI 1.4 inputs and repeater circuitry that enables it to process the high-resolution Blu-ray Dolby and DTS format signals received from source components, being able to decode the DTS 96/24, DTS ES, DTS Neo6, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic IIz formats.
The audio signal is then transmitted to the connected speaker system, RD-705i's integrated amplifier providing users with 100 watts RMS at 8 ohms for each of the receiver's
seven channels, high-resolution audio quality being provided thanks to 192kHz/24 bit digital to analog converters that also upsample the MP3 and AAC tracks streamed to the device.
Apart from the feature list, even more impressive is the $499.95 price tag that makes this an attractive offering for any audiophile.
