Siemens Hearing Instruments Inc. has just announced a new product line, based on their BestSound Technology. Siemens has been one of the leaders in hearing aid design for over 130 years, and thanks to the BestSound Technology, the company pushed the standards to a whole new level. That technology is actually a comprehensive suite of devices, including SpeechFocus, FeedbackStopper and SoundLearning 2.0.

"Siemens is proud of the innovations achieved with the BestSound Technology platform," said Brian Kinnerk, CEO of Siemens Hearing Instruments in the Americas. "The BestSound Technology truly combines science with subtlety; giving each wearer an automatically customized hearing solution."

SpeechFocus is what ensures the optimal directional pattern for speech understanding and is automatically taken in use, as that is the only thing proven to enhance speech intelligibility in noisy environments. SpeechFocus analyzes the environmental sound in real-time, in order to focus in the appropriate direction when sensing speech, and by using enhanced directional microphones, it can improve SRT by up to 4dB in challenging scenarios, as well as optimize intelligibility in low-noise cases by a maximum of 7dB.

FeedbackStopper, on the other hand, benefits from the company's patented Acoustic Fingerprint Technology, for distinguishing between feedback and other signals that resemble feedback. This marks the amplified signal leaving the instrument receiver, enabling it to be identified easier as feedback in future situations, thus achieving an extremely fast adaptation thanks to using frequency shift of 20Hz to break the feedback loop, which allows the feedback to be virtually eliminated before becoming noticeable.

Last but not least, SoundLearning 2.0 is capable of taking into account the wearer's listening preference trending in certain situations, as well as automatically adjusting itself when sensing similar sound environments. It can log every adjustment its user makes to the volume or SoundBalance. Packed in Pure, Siemens Life and Motion, the BestSound Technology ensures the dramatic performance levels for all relevant hearing losses.
