I like toys a lot. Maybe it's just another form of nostalgia, but I will always like to play with remote-controlled cars. Going from the cheapest and hardest to control to the more serious ones you build. So they are toys and look childish, so what? Some of the remote controlled toys out there were simply made for children but adults steal them. Childhood never ends in my opinion.
One of the remote controlled toys I came across lately is the Silverlit Heli Mission SWAT Truck. Not only you get a remote controlled weird looking transit truck, but also a functional 3-Channel helicopter. For enhanced realism, the truck sports LED headlight and running light and a working siren.
The truck also features an automatic trap roof trap. After the doors are open, the launching platform with the helicopter rises. Now you can take off. The helicopter has auto-stabilization built-in and a precise cruising speed so you won't crash into a wall. Careful if playing with it near a pool or lake because the remote control is IR based.
The remote control requires six AA batteries and only reaches 10 meters in range. The truck and helicopter are charged via the controller. The estimated experience level is beginner. Adult supervision recommended for children (or for taking the toy away). It's a nice toy for the price you pay, that is 70.65EUR when it will be released. It's a compromise if you wanna play but don't have the time to build your own or the money to buy something more complex.
You can find online parts for an el cheapo helicopter that will go at least 20 meters high in the air. The thing that could set you back though is the radio remote control that comes with multiple servos so it will be you controlling everything, from the main propeller to the axis movement.
