Life isn't always pink for everybody. Some people happen to be born with certain physical problems. Accidents happen too, just like violence. People with special needs are still people, my friends. They do not need ignorance and most of them won't beg for money, they'll work for it.

There are a lot of companies that hire physically-disabled persons, but only one company that helps both employers and employees. The name is Maltron, keyboard specialists. The mission, "To help people overcome disability and injury by enabling keyboard access to computers for work & home." Maltron keyboards are specially designed to help people with disabilities.

What I'm gonna talk next are the Maltron single-handed keyboards that have been created as a natural step forward to meet the need of those who can only type with one hand. Its shape matches natural hand movement in order to raise typing speed and relieve frustration. Also, having the keys rearranged minimizes finger movement. Both the shape and the letter layout have been carefully planned to be accessed quickly and comfortably, taking into account the number of keys that can be used is limited.

Operators using Maltron single-handed keyboards have reported word-processing input speeds of up to 85 words per minute without risk and strain-free. Both left and right hand models were designed for "Touch Typing." Self-training manuals ensure quick and easy learning, with both screen and paper versions being available. Shift, Control and Alt functions have been replaced with Push-On Push-Off key to comply with single-hand operation.

To ensure that users or companies will be satisfied with the keyboards, Maltron offers keyboards for rental by the week. You take $16 out your pocket to rent the single-handed keyboard for seven full days, though if you decide to buy one, you will have to take out a little bit more. About $484 more.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is
