I am sure that all of you would like to replace the view from certain facades of your current apartment/house, if not all of them, and we now have the technology for that. Well, not we, but Sky Factory, a company that has a history in manufacturing this type of indoor illusions. So, instead of looking out
the window at that overcrowded boutique where all sorts of dubious people are entering and exiting all day long, why not look at a refreshing waterfall, or a sandy beach.
How does the illusion work? Well, you cover your windows and replace them with LCD monitors that come with a realistic window frame. This is a new method for lying to yourself that you live on the ocean's shore, in a forest, or in the middle of the desert. Depends on what you're into.
Sky Factory called it the eScape, but I would personally call it the eNtrapment. To me, their solution is simply an HD LCD monitor with a fancier frame, but perhaps that's just me. It is not a replacement for the windows in your house, it is just a very expensive and larger photo frame. Plus, if you look at some presentation photos on the official website, you'll see that placing it above your fireplace is a really bad decorating idea, no matter what video you play on the eScape. I'm sure that the pixels are visible even from a distance and there's always that problem of the unnatural
light that an LCD renders.
Sky Factory, however, promises the most advanced RED digital cinema technology powered by their own HD nature content, so the images seen on the eScape should be better than those on your current LCD. Not to mention that it will also reproduce the murmur of the river it pictures, being equipped with speakers as well. This is about all that makes this “
high-tech illusion” a little more expensive than actually going outdoors and chasing butterflies. The price for one such 40-inch windows is of $9,750, according to
Slashgear. Sky Factory will also include 8 Full HD videos in the package. You can read more about it on
the Awesomer.
