Most of us have a lot of high-tech gadgets around, be they cars, laptops or smartphones. Most of the time, these are a magnet to thieves everywhere. Sure, we try to protect ourselves as much as we can but we all know that sometimes... it just isn't enough! If a thief gets away with your device, there's usually nothing you can do about it.

Well, not up until now at least, since the world's smallest and thinnest GPS, GSM and RF tracking device has been developed. Named the CATS-i, this gadget is small enough to be outfitted onto anything from your dog's collar to your car's dashboard. Varying in size (from 45mm x 35mm x 12mm to 70mm x 45mm x 8mm) , it comes in several different variants. You can get a waterproof CATS-i but also a solar-powered one and who knows what else.

Lee Walkey, Sales Director, CATS-I Ltd., declared that “It has been a long and often bumpy road to get here […] but the end product is entirely worth it and we know that it will blow the GPS tracking industry wide open to almost any asset of value. The tracking of motor vehicles will no longer be the industry standard.”

It comes with an RF beacon that allows you to track your device even inside buildings, a new GSM location technology, which permits GPS-like accuracy whenever a map of the area is available, as well as functioning as a GPS tracking device. It will be made available in July and is said to be priced fairly, yet competitively with other such products.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .

smallest? you are kidding me...go to Taiwan...and you'll see the bulkiness of this product.

I do a lot of work for the MOD and overseas governments including the far east. This is as small as you can get it! believe me, we have worked with CATSi and you cannot get it any smaller (or flatter) as the ground planes start to interfere.

I will lay a challenge for you seeing as you seem so confident though... show me a smaller GPS/GSM and RF unit (by volume) and I'll give you a free CATSi unit!

d-corp -- Any chance you can provide links to examples of how small / miniaturized these units can be? Totally appreciate any leads on that.

A quick search turned up equipment that is pretty bulky.

Thanks.

I would not do business with the company who advertises and supplies the CATS.i GPS product. I sent them money last year to purchase the product and they never delivered anything. Lee Walkey the marketing contact talks a good game, but now will not respond to my emails or take my telephone call nor return my money.
