Although Sony's PlayStation 3 Surround Sound System has been introduced quite a while back, the Japanese company has just announced that this speaker bar will become available as soon as next week in US and Canada coming ready to “enhance your overall gaming experience,” as Sony like to put it.

Moving on all these marketing claims not many things have changed from our previous report detailing the Surround Sound System, this thing coming with a compact, bar like design, Sony managing to somehow cram in there a 30W subwoofer along with two speakers, an impressive feat to say the least.

The unit also ships with its own remote control, an analog audio input as well as a optical input being available on the back of this thing, allowing its users to connect not just a PS3 console to it, but any other media player or PC that features this type of outputs.

Other features include DTS, Dolby Digital, MPEG-2 AAC and Linear-PCM audio format decoding while the Surround Sound System also features a special sound mode that should enhance in game dialogs, according to Sony.

If all these specifications were pretty much known until now, this recent announcement manages to bring something new to the party, since Sony has just informed us that the Surround Sound System will be available for $180, or $20 less then originally expected, good news for all you PS3 gamers out there.
