It was about time for a certain company to come up with some new products. As of next month, the Cyber-shot TX1 and WX1 will be made available, showcasing Sony's latest optical, imaging and processing technologies.
They both sport a 10.2 effective megapixel
CMOS sensor with Exmor R and BIONZ imaging processor for bright low-noise in dim light and, of course, responsive shooting without annoying delays that you usually get in compact cameras.
Binding crystal clear picture quality and smart shooting features with the trendy, cool and colorful casing, these two cameras will surely stand out in the crowd. The Exmor R sensor mentioned uses some innovative sensor that is supposed to catch more light, therefore increasing sensitivity and diminishing that silly noise. That results in brilliant, detailed photos even in low light.
The ultra-fast response of these two is provided by the powerful BIONZ processor. Both cameras feature mechanical shutters, capable of reaching ten frames per second (a tad quicker than most professional dSLRs ).
It's the combination of these two that allows for the Sweep Panorama mode. You only have to press the shutter button once and move the camera from side to side both vertically and horizontally and it automatically combines the high-speed burst images into one huge landscape with a maximum field of view of 256 degrees, far away from the "reach" of any ultra wide angle lens.
Also, the cameras can record major detailed
720p HD movie clips with audio at a smooth 30 frames per second. Despite the variety of imaging capabilities, the TX1 and WX1 are very user-friendly and make it easy for anyone to capture great images with any given scene. Featuring Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, face detection and smile shutter, they will let anyone take portraits that are both fun and great looking.
Slim and stylish, the TX1 sports a 3" Clear Photo LCD Plus touchscreen with an intuitive interface that lets you lead through your pictures and drag and drop frequently used functions onto the one-touch menu bar and the 4x zoom lens.
The WX1 is another state-of-the-art gadget combining a premium Sony-engineered G Lens that starts at a 24mm wide angle lens that extends on a 5x zoom range. Some third-party site says the WX1 will be out in October with an MSRP of $349.99, while the TX1 should arrive in September for $379.99.
