If you thought you had too many memory sticks, think again. Actually, now you can have less memory sticks, but more storage space. I'm talking about the only memory stick that is really named like that, Sony's Memory Stick.
The company has announced the "soon to be available" 32GB Pro Duo, which is not be confused with the
more recently announced 32GB MS Pro-HG Duo, because it is a completely separate flash memory device.
Having this amount of added space in the Pro Duo flash memory will provide the owner with the possibility of shooting 225 minutes of Full HD video, on supported Sony Handycams. Additionally, Cyber-Shot owner will be offered 29-minute long video clip recording in 720p resolution.
The news of this high capacity memory was probably well expected by Sony users for the Cyber-shot features including extended video capturing, super-fast burst shooting and because it is ideal for stable long-duration HD recording with a Handycam.
Thus, you don't have to worry about running out of memory, even when recording a wedding in FH mode - 1920 x 1080 Full HD. You just have to remember and change the card once in a while. In this case, "a while" means about 3 hours and 45 minutes. Provided with battery / alternative portable power for your camera, you can shoot a wedding from 9AM to 9AM the next day by using 6 x 32GB and 1 x 16GB memory cards. Should I mention the fact that they'll take up no more space than a
visit card, all of them?
Giving up some resolution and going to the 720p standard, you can store 7 hours and 38 minutes on this upcoming memory stick. Neither pricing available nor third-party website-based assumptions. You'll just have to wait.
