Since the first such products appeared on the market, Bluetooth headphones have managed to enjoy a fairly high level of popularity, simply because they manage do to away with those pesky wires, which always seem to get tangled up in the worst possible manners. Pretty much every major name on the audio/CE market has come up with such a product, and the latest to do so is none other than the Japanese company Sony, which is offering a couple of new wireless Bluetooth headphones, namely the DR-BT100CX and DR-BT101 models.
According to Sony, both devices pack simple, easy to use finger-tip controls, which make it straightforward to adjust the volume, play and skip music tracks, and accept or reject incoming calls at the touch of a button. Since they're designed to be used mostly on the outside, they pack echo and noise canceling technology, which will allow users to carry out conversations without being affected by the surrounding environment.
Furthermore, they support A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP Bluetooth profiles, which make them quite a good solution for both listening to music and communicating. Also, they're compliant with the Bluetooth 2.1 specification, which ensures good transfer speeds an enhanced security.
The DR-BT100CX in-ear headphones have been designed to be used specifically with MP3 players or mobile phones. USB charging and cord free styling make them easy to use, while three sizes of silicon ear buds ensure a high sound quality and more comfort. Additionally, the built-in battery offers a fairly extensive playback time, of around eight hours.
On the other hand, the DR-BT101 model is a headband headset equipped with a 30mm neodymium driver, as well as an improved battery, which offers up to 12 hours of non-stop playback.
Unfortunately, the Japanese company is yet to provide any significant pricing or availability information, mentioning just that the two new Bluetooth headphone models will be “affordable.” However, we all know what Sony understands by this term, so expect these things to be pretty expensive.
