Pretty much everyone knows that Sony is one of the most experienced companies in the field of high-definition display and camcorders, rolling some of the best and most advanced HDTVs we've ever seen. However, given the fact that it's been somewhat overshadowed by Samsung over the past year or so, the Japanese company has decided to get ready for the future and recently released an LCD monitor able to provide an absolutely stunning native resolution, namely 3840 x 2160 pixels.

The device, dubbed the Trimaster SRM-L560, is a 10-bit a-Si TFT LCD active matrix panel and, besides the very impressive resolution mentioned above, also sports a very large diagonal size, namely 56 inches. Moreover, the display solution incorporates a Precision LED Backlight System and, as most of these advanced display systems do, is accompanied by an external professional display engine, equipped with a nonlinear cubic conversion color management system and able to deliver high-accurate I/P conversion.

Given the LCD panel's size and resolution, it's no wonder that it actually supports quite a few display modes, including here 4K/QFHD mode (4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160), Quad View mode (2048 x 1080, 1920 x 1080 etc), 2K/HD Zoom mode (2048 x 1080, 1920 x 1080 etc), as well as a Native Scan Mode with Shift function for Side cut images.

However, in order to provide the respective display options, the device from Sony also requires a fairly high level of versatility in the connectivity department, which is attained with the help of the 4 x DVI-D interfaces, 4 x HDMI connectors and, last but certainly not least, the eight free Option Slots, which can be equipped with a variety of interfaces, including here HD-SDI, Dual Link HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, etc.

As mentioned right from the title, pricing for this amazing display is, quite obviously, absolutely huge, Sony asking no less than 6,825,000 Japanese Yen (or roughly 77,000 US dollars) for the Trimaster SRM-L560 when it becomes officially available, starting with November 1.
