Since we started the day with
Sony-related news, how 'bout we continue in the same manner and check out its latest announcement, namely the Sony VAIO X Series “world's lightest” notebook? As you've probably remembered it from the
IFA 2009 event where our undercover agent sneaked quite a peek! So, without further ado, I bring to you the VAIO X Series, aluminum slash carbon fiber designed VAIO X.
First, a little something about what we already know: the device will be featuring 2GB of RAM, SSD storage and it is not clear what type of CPU it will be using though my money is on one of the Intel CULV models.
Now, it is time to see the details that Sony has decided to make available in its announcement. Well, it features an X-black widescreen LCD that's 11.1 inches in size, an aluminum carbon fiber design, is 13.9mm slim and weighs as low as 655 grams.
You will be glad to know that it has two USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a VGA port and, of course, 802.11 b/g/Draft-N and Bluetooth connectivity. Other options include a microphone, headphone jack and card slots for Memory Stick and SD media. It has a built-in MOTION EYE camera for your videoconferencing needs and will also come with Windows 7 Professional. What better operating system to have installed on your SSD storage medium, right?
As far as design goes, well, you're probably used to the Sony VAIO by now so you know what to expect: mate colors and curves that will make every one of your friends envious. If you want a laptop that has “style” and “class” written all over, look no further than the latest VAIO X. It will be made available starting with October 22. This very year, this very month!
